Dr. Derek Westfall Ed.D is the Founder and Principal of The Westfall Consulting Group. He has over 35 years of experience in the field of supply chain management. His career includes expertise in areas of operations management, supplier management, and logistics.
For the last
decade Derek has found his passion for working with and learning the 3PL industry. Derek was part of the team that implemented the first 3PL within a Boeing Fabrication manufacturing site and created the Statement of Work (SOW) that is still in place to this day. The current SOW is now used as the benchmark for all 3PL implementations throughout the organization. Derek is continuously consulted regarding 3PL implementation best practices.
Derek is a recognized expert in the field of supply chain management and 3PL implementations. He is a regularly featured speaker at supply chain events around the world. Dr. Westfall earned his Doctorate from the University of Southern California in Organizational Change and Leadership, and earned his master’s degree from Pennsylvania State University in Supply Chain Management.
Derek also holds seven professional supply chain certifications, along with the PMP certification from the Project Management Institute. Derek also teaches APICS (ASCM) certification courses as well is an adjunct faculty member at Portland State University School of Business, teaching supply chain courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
